グラベルロードの世界はマウンテンバイクの技術の発展と共に進歩してきた。

タイヤはますます太くなり、サスペンションが導入され、短いステムとより広いハンドルバーに変化してきている。

幅の広いバーは空力的ではないが、コントロール性は向上する。アメリカのハンドルメーカーであるFarrは日本の日東とコラボレーションしてグラベル用のWIDE-R GRVLハンドルバーを発表した。

より多くのブランドが幅広いハンドルバー市場に参入しようとしているが、既存のデザインを拡張するだけの簡単なことではない。

そこで、Farrは日本のハンドルバーマスターである日東の助けを受けた。12か月の試行錯誤の結果ドロップフレアハンドーのプロトタイプの開発に成功。

Inspired by legendary drop bar bikes of the past / bikes like this ‘88 Cunningham which are a part of MTB history and show how progressive and innovative these bikes were at that time! Our new Wide-R Drop bar pays homage to these and many other early drop bar builds of the time – we just updated them to match current technology and bike design – cue 1. even wider overall length ( up to 750mm if that’s your thing! Also available in 650 and 700 widths ) 2. 31.8mm centre clamp diameter 3. Extended 100mm centre section for allowing accessories like clip-on bars ( like our Aero Bolt-On 😎 ) , lights, GPS units etc to be fitted! Whilst not for everyone – gravel rides and events are evolving, bikepacking is growing and people are just doing gnarlier stuff with their drop bar bikes!
