優勝したSoudal – Quick Stepのティム・メルリエ(チーム公式サイトより)
エシェロンが絡む複雑な一日だったが、最初からそうなることは皆分かっていたことだ。そしてチーム全体がそのプランを完璧に実行してくれた。最後の80kmは非常にペースが速かったが、私たちはグループを先頭でキープすることに集中し続けた。
その後、フィニッシュまでのラストスパートが非常に速くなるという情報を得たので、最後の250mまでは良いポジションをキープするように努めた。
そこで一か八か、そこからスプリントを仕掛けることに決めた。加速はうまくいったと感じていましたが、特にこの特別な『Fix ALL Quick-Step』のジャージを着て優勝できたことを本当に嬉しく思う。
