第3ステージは、誰も予想していなかった形で終わることになった。
フォン・ロムーまで174kmを走り、今大会最初の山頂フィニッシュを迎えるはずだった。
ところが、ゴールまで約15kmとなったところで天候が急変。モトバイクもヘリコプターの映像も入らなくなる。雷が鳴っているのでヘリコプターもUターンだ。
一旦中断から、道路に雹が積もって中止となった。

天候の変化具合をSoudal – Quick StepのXの投稿で追ってみると。イーサン・ヘイターは、ポイント賞をキープするために逃げに2日連続の参加。
イーサン・ヘイターは、中間スプリントを獲得したので20ポイント加算で、タデイ・ポガチャルを抜いて単独トップにたった。目標達成だ。

イーサン・ヘイター可哀そうよね～。3日連続で不運だもんね～。20ポイント加算だったら、単独でポイント賞トップで、もう少し長くグリーンジャージで走れていただろうにね。
とりあえず第4ステージはポイント2位で、グリーンジャージでスタート。第4ステージのポイント賞は山を二つ越えないといけないので厳しい。

Equipo Kern Pharmaのアスビョルン・ヘレモーセも、ロレンツォ・フォルトゥナートに抜かれず1級山岳でポイント取ったけれど、無効に。

これで第4ステージで総合が動くことになりそう。怖いのは34年ぶりに初日から最後までマイヨロホをタデイ・ポガチャルが着用することになるのかということ。
